People who keep the Community alive
- Financial Contributors.
- Community people - Countless folks who've kept the community alive with their contributions via content, support for the initiative and selfless promotion. This includes the administration team, the people volunteering in the Localization project and various other activities of Sampada.
There are people who aren't involved in the back-end trouble, but have been active in the community. They deserve the first mention when we describe about ourselves.
The below are the people who've been spending several hours each week to keep Sampada going:
Founder, Maintainer
The initiative was started by Hari Prasad Nadig, known to his close friends as HP. Setup as a personal initiative, Sampada has now reached his stated goal of getting more and more people to use Kannada language for exchange of thoughts and discussion.
HP's the all-hands person looking after the entire operations of the whole website including coordinating with the host, setting up/managing the content management system of the website, maintaining the server software, backups, etc. besides actively contributing widely read contents to the community website, contributing to the localization work.
The Public Face
Ismail has been a major contributor to the rich content pool found on the website. Ismail, a full time journalist and a free software activist, helps in coordinating with the press, with literary folks, with people who are inclined towards nurturing the rich cultural heritage of Kannada. The results of which can be found in the hugely successful podcasts of several well known cultural giants of Kannada.
Mentor
Professor O L Nagabhushana Swamy was one of the very early contributors to Sampada. A legend who prefers staying low profile, he has been a great source of inspiration to everyone around Sampada.
He is one of the well known critics in Kannada literature, an ardent researcher on Vachana Saahithya.
The Moonlighter
Shashi helps HP to manage situations that may arise on the server. Despite promises to write articles on Sampada, shashi has managed to write only one, that is this page on contributions.
Shashishekhar's usually bossing around at Informedia Technologies, Mysore http://www.informedia.co.in/ when not advising HP on matters related to the Sampada server.
